Industry partner representatives following an application demonstration. The MARIN2 project was officially launched in a kick-off seminar held on the M/S Baltic Princess on the 12th and the 13th of January. Tekes participated in funding the project, and the total budget for the project settled at 1 988 000 €. The project will continue until November 2016.

The main goal of the project is to research ways to integrate plans (e.g. 3D CAD-models) with associated data (e.g. material information, comments or pictures). This is to be accomplished using augmented reality. Reaching this goal could make the life of planners, workers and maintenance people significantly easier and less cumbersome.

The project partners include Destia Oy, Granlund Oy and Meyer Turku Oy amongst many others. For more information about MARIN2, please visit the project’s website.

The press release of the launch is available in English and in Finnish.
